This module aims to start a discussion amongst students about gaming and the power of play.
The popularity of digital games is ever growing and has become a part of young people's daily lives. According to recent studies, 51% of 12-15 year olds play online games for more than 11.2 hours every week. It is important that young people and their parents or guardians are aware of the positive and negative aspects of gaming in order to sustain a balanced and safe attitude to gaming.
By running this module, Tech Trainers will have the opportunity to educate and share their knowledge with younger students. The activities in the lesson plan are designed to encourage reflection on the amount of time spent gaming, suitable age ratings, different risks around online gaming and positive/negative gaming behaviour.
