THE SUPERCELL YOUTH BOARD IN HELSINKI: A DIARY

The Easter Holidays saw the Supercell Youth Board fly over to Helsinki for a very special few days spent feeding into Supercell’s online safety strategy at their Helsinki HQ. Hannah K, a Supercell Youth Board member, shares her diary from the trip with us.

INQUIRY: IMPACT OF SOCIAL  MEDIA AND SCREEN-USE ON  YOUNG PEOPLE’S HEALTH  RESPONSE FROM  THE DIANA AWARD

The government has launched an inquiry into the effects of social media and screen-use on young people’s physical and mental wellbeing. The Diana Award has responded to share our feedback from working regularly with young people across the UK through our Anti-Bullying and online safety training programmes.

YOUNG PEOPLE'S MENTAL HEALTH - CONSULTATION RESPONSE

In December 2017 the government set out its plans to transform children and young people’s mental health provision. We spoke to our National Anti-Bullying Youth Board, a group of young people who represent Anti-Bullying Ambassadors across the UK and Ireland, and shared our response to the proposals.

KEEPING CHILDREN SAFE IN EDUCATION_ CONSULTATION RESPONSE

The Department for Education is proposing revisions to the statutory guidance Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) and is consulting on this as well as the new non-statutory advice on sexual harassment and violence between children in schools and colleges.
 

Changes to the teaching of Sex and Relationship Education and PSHE – The Diana Award’s response

The Department for Education is exploring the current provision of PSHE and SRE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic education and Sex and Relationship Education) lessons in schools and how these subjects can be improved to adequately equip young people for life in the modern world.

On the 23/03/17 I had the privilege, as well as 9 others, to travel to Helsinki in Finland. Being chosen to be part of the Supercell youth board was just out of this world, knowing that eventually something amazing will come out of this and just being able to help other people is gold in my eyes.
